Facilities
Classrooms and Offices
Most Computer Science courses are taught in McAdams or Daniel Hall.
Classrooms range in size from 30 to 90 seats, with an average
undergraduate class size of approximately 30. Several classrooms
are equipped with computer projection equipment, network
connections, and other audio/visual facilities.
Computer Laboratories
Computer labs are used by students for programming projects, homework,
word processing, internet access, email and general communications
access to other students and faculty. Several computer science
classes include scheduled labs where the instructor can provide
interactive instruction.
The department maintains over 150 Unix and
Windows based systems in various
department labs
and classrooms.
All systems are connected to the department network, which in turn
is connected to the campus-wide university network and the internet.
Department servers provide shared file space and numerous other
shared resources. Laser printers, color printers, scanners and
other facilities are provided for classwork, projects and research.
In addition to department facilities, both the
college
and the
university
maintain extensive facilities for both classroom and
general use.
Student Owned Machines
The university now requires students to have
their own laptops. For more information, consult the
laptop help page
