Why Study at Clemson?
Excellent Faculty:
The nationally-known faculty is extremely active in a wide range of research
areas, and yet prides itself on the high quality of its teaching. Teaching
and research are viewed as complementary, synergistic activities, and both
receive the rigorous attention they deserve. Students and faculty are frequently
co-authors on published research papers.
Diverse Facilities: The department UNIX network provides access to
a wide variety of multiprocessor systems and over 80 RISC workstations.
An open access policy allows graduate students to fully use these resources.
Innovative Curriculum: Members of the faculty have received national
recognition for undergraduate curriculum design. These design principles
have been carried through to the graduate program, and the resulting curriculum
provides students with a broad and solid background that equips them to
attack new problems in computer science. Graduates of both M.S. and Ph.D.
programs are well prepared and highly recruited.
Wonderful Environment: Located on the edge of Lake Hartwell in the
foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Clemson, South Carolina, is an extremely
pleasant place to live. The mild climate, relatively low cost of living,
clean air and clean water make academic life at Clemson both a stimulating
and enjoyable experience.
